Why I drank municipal water most of my life

The first part of my life I lived in a small town and because I was outside of city limits, the water was pumped from a well. To me the water tasted fine, and it didn’t need any filtering.

Then I moved to the big city and of course I read about water quality. The water seemed to be acceptable and I didn’t taste anything weird in it. So I started to drink municipal water.

Moving to CT and then NYC I continued to drink municipal water after researching it at the government water quality site. Tasted fine to me. However a friend suggested to get a water filter. I thought this was a waste, but you know, I am curious so I did it.

The water tasted sweeter after using the water filter and that was enough reason to continue using it. I tried many different companies for water filtration but they were roughly the same and I decided on one that I liked the best.

Time passes and it was annoying to have to fill up a water picture. I bought a system that could go on the counter that would filter the water and not need a picture. This was pretty good and I liked it. Then I moved and the kitchen faucet wouldn’t allow me to connect it in the same way. Since the landlord didn’t want any changes, I couldn’t put in a more expensive system. Something had to change.

I did more research and I found the Epic Water Filter system. No I am not getting any benefits from them. Instead of just filtering a handful of things, it filtered hundreds. Well I had to try this. I tried it and loved it. The water tasted like my favorite kind of water Fuji – sweet and delicious. So I continue to use it this day.

Now why am I sharing this? I didn’t buy a filter in time and while it is on its way, I am tasting some of the less desirable elements in the water. Its not going to kill me, its just a little surprising that I was used to this level of taste. We often don’t realize that bit by bit we are doing things that are killing us and we justify it. I was wrong to drink unfiltered water and I realize that now. The world has too many toxins to allow ourselves to absorb more.

Will the unfiltered water work in a pinch? Sure I still use it to shower with and to brush my teeth and rinse. However I am not consuming it otherwise so that is a fair balance to me.
