Stop me if you have heard this one. A speaker goes into a city, and says the rest of the US will become terrible just like the city he is in.
I don’t know how to tell you this, but if you were in the audience he is insulting you. No city is perfect but one city is never the worst city in every aspect in the US. What makes that city worse than every other city in the US and to be held up as a model?
As I have learned in life, people say one thing and do another. I don’t listen to what people say but what they do. If you support someone who abuses and insults people, to me are are just as bad.
Hitler would have no power unless he was allowed that cruelty to others. Why are we cruel to others? Why do we allow this kind of toxic and hurtful dialog instead of something that builds us up?
Are we so out of touch with what it means to respect others that we can’t see that someone who abuses others we don’t like, will abuse us? Do you think that anyone unrestrained by power will care about your narrow self-interests? Power certainly corrupts and we saw the fruits of people in power in the past. We saw deaths and destruction and we are still feeling those effects today.
Vote people because your life depends on it.
