I often think about love. To me it is the most worthwhile thing in the world.
Working with computers is a job, but having a relationship is a life. It gives meaning to everything you do and as one person said, makes the highs higher and the lows lower. It makes everything more intense and alive.
When I am with someone that I love, I feel more alive. I laugh more easily, I cry and share who I am by being vulnerable. If you don’t feel that, its hard to say its love, it might just be a companionship.
There is nothing wrong with loving a friend, but loving a lover is another level. When the person you live with is someone that you can relate to, grow from and process the hurts from your past that is really special and unique.
I think the reason many relationships fail is that people don’t want to do the hard work it takes to have one. It takes courage and hard work each day. I understand that people want to do what is easy, but taking the easy route never achieves the growth that is required.
By required, if you don’t grow, your life gets worse and then you become cynical and bitter. But if you grow and accept and slowly correct those less than helpful things in you, your life gets better. Sometimes the hard work does pay off.
