I was playing a game and the screen sharing between my OpenSuse Linux computer and Windows 11 Pro computer froze again. Time for more troubleshooting.
This time I deleted the Flatpak installer and used the RPM for OpenSuse. It gave me the latest version which wasn’t available with Flatpak.
I am testing it now. I suspect that it will work better than the older version I was using.
Another change was not using the guest account but logging in as a user. I bet that users have a higher level of reliability than the guest account. I used the guest account because I have both my personal Microsoft account setup, and my consulting company account. The account that NoMachine runs under is the personal Microsoft account. If you aren’t sure you can try connecting with both.
What else is different is that it was early morning when I tested this. I wanted to see if internet traffic made a difference. I didn’t think it would since I am using the private and internal IP range to connect, but still I like to test all of the variables if I can.
I’ll let you know how this turns out. Eventually I will find a configuration that makes Nomachine stable between Linux and Windows.
