I mentioned that I had bought a portable AC unit. It had a built in dehumidifier as well.
Now at first I thought I wasn’t going to use this much. I had tried a dehumidifier in the past and it was hard to clean and maintain. However I don’t have to clean or maintain this. So it has been a dream.
The biggest benefit here is that the humidity in the hall is something that I can help control. Now when I empty the garbage or recycle something some of that humidity comes inside and over time the hallway has been less humid and more comfortable.
I wish the building had a built in dehumidifier but I understand that some residents may not want that. Still I think that would be healthier for people to not have to worry about the possibility of mold from the built-in condensation driers for example. Seems like a no brainer to me.
We really are short-sighted in how we maintain and care for people and things aren’t we?
