I got new glasses yesterday and the world seems larger and sharper.
Which is strange because the doctor said it was the same prescription as before. When I first put them on everything looked different and not in a good way. I told the person fitting my glasses that things didn’t look right and he said that my glasses frames were “bowed out” and adjusted them. The next fitting things looked much more normal.
I drove home and things looked so different. When I went outside I was looking around for a bit to make sure that I could see things at a distance properly. I had a time where I had minor eyelid surgery and they covered my left eye and that really made depth perception difficult. It was similar to that but not as dramatic.
The person who fit my glasses said that part of what I may be noticing was that my lens were flat instead of curved. I have always had curved lens and he said it takes a little adjustment he said. Honestly every time I have had new lens it has taken some adjustment to view everything as normal again. This is my second day and I am still adjusting. My TV/monitor looks intensely sharp/bright and its going to take some getting used to.
I love the lightness of these glasses so far and I am so fortunate to be able to have them. My old glasses were scratched and apparently that causes headaches and eye strain. Take care of your eyes and they will help take care of you.
