Mixed results with using ChatGTP plugins

My experience with ChatGPT plugins has been mixed.

The first one that I used I didn’t find helpful. So I kind of ignored it. I tried again with some other plugins and had more success yesterday.

The Sora plugin was a mixed bag. I typed what I thought would be a good prompt, but it changed it into a much longer prompt and then said I could use in the Sora app. Which I did and the results were not great. See my earlier article today. Does it save time in making a prompt? Sure. Will you get results with it? I didn’t get results I liked, but perhaps my prompts need to be longer and more detailed.

Then I tried a top popular plugin called imagegenerator by naif. I couldn’t get it to generate any image. It was the worst plugin that I tried. It attempted to and then failed halfway and despite trying multiple times never got a decent output. This is trash IMHO.

Next was the plugin called Cartoonize Yourself by Karenxcheng. This worked pretty well. I made 8 images before ChatGPT said I was making images too quickly and that could affect other peoples work. How considerate of me. It said that I had to wait 4 minutes before trying more pictures. I waited and then did more than 8 pictures and it didn’t complain again. The result of this plugin created creative and beautiful work. It was not consistent however. When I asked it to use the same image but just change one small thing it would create something entirely new. Still this was 8/10 and useful.

I also tried the Tutorme plugin by Khan Academy. It was barely useful. If you have any kind of search engine skills you can do better than this. I was hoping it would take the lead and be a real instructor but it was not. It needs more AI to be useful.

This is what I spent my day yesterday doing. Nothing that adds enough value to justify a separate expense outside of ChatGPT cost.
