Microsoft Edge has an interesting and useful AI integration. You can learn more about it by watching the LinkedIn Learning video titled “Streamlining Your Work with Microsoft Bing Chat”. Don’t be misled by the word chat. This is no simple chat application.

I said before that I think Brave is the superior browser. I still think it is. However it doesn’t have the AI integration that Microsoft Edge does, and until it does, it makes sense to use two browsers. Edge is getting closer to Brave’s other features, and it is always helpful to be able to switch to another browser if you are having a problem with one.

If you don’t have the right to watch LinkedIn Learning then you can learn about it with this link here. It will dramatically speed up your work, and not require you to have to do the awkward login to ChatGPT4 and it offers functionality that GPT4 doesn’t offer.

I learned about this on Saturday as part of the larger learning path called “Career Essentials in Generative AI by Microsoft and LinkedIn.” I really enjoyed that module and also the “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence” module with Doug Rose. The rest were meh in my opinion. They didn’t offer as much and they were pretty short and less useful. However, if you want to get a professional certificate, you need to watch all of them otherwise you won’t know enough to pass the 40-question test. If you don’t work in AI for a living, you need to view all of these videos to pass.

I have tried having AI write things and I am not impressed. Sure the speed is impressive, but the content is often questionable. It often has a tone that I don’t like. It is often academic and overly formal and that kind of language doesn’t help communicate to a wide audience. I understand that slang is difficult and could be less understood, but I think right now AI isn’t better than an average English writer. Often it is much worse.

It will probably take about 8 hours to get through the videos and the test is 90 minutes. If you have a strong memory you don’t need to take notes, but if you doubt your memory take notes. Learning this really helps you have a better understanding of what AI is all about. It is a nice introduction.
