Losing patience for people who don’t listen

"To listen to your instincts, press one."
"To listen to your instincts, press one."
“To listen to your instincts, press one.”

All of my life it seems like almost everyone that I meet doesn’t listen. It is really frustrating.

For example yesterday a recruiter send me a LinkedIn message and I didn’t have the skills for that position so I responded and said I don’t have the skills for that position. A few minutes later he called me, and when I realized it was the same recruiter I told him that I already answered his question. I told him a second time I don’t have the skills for that position. Even if I did have the skills, he wouldn’t get my business.

I am so sick of people not listening to me. I listen to others and consider their point of view. I clearly say the answer, and people act as though it doesn’t register. I say it over and over until they finally understand that I mean it.

If people don’t respect my boundaries and honor my no’s, they do not have my respect as a person. I think that respect is lacking when others can’t treat others how they want to be treated. I always treat others with kindness unless they are a jerk first and even then I give them the benefit of the doubt and grace.

Hostility and aggression rule the world not kindness. How sad for them that their lives are so filled with anger and disrespect.
