Don’t you feel sometimes that after you say something, life gives you an immediate test to see if you meant it?
Twice today I have had situations where after I wrote my post I got to have a situation that tested what I just wrote.
A recruiter gave me a number and I said thank you for your time but that range is unacceptable to me. She asked what my lowest salary I would accept was per hour. That is never a good sign to hear as a candidate. I said X and she said that they could do that on a 1099. However at this point I had already lost interest.
I’m not going to repeat myself. If a company can’t see that I bring a value far in excess of my wage, then they are not the company I want to work for.
Don’t settle for scraps people. Your time, energy and knowledge are worth multiples of the wage you are getting paid.
