One of the downsides of the MSI I am currently using is that the fans often work. They aren’t noisy, but they do make noise when my Mac isn’t. It is something that I notice.
Why do I mention this? I had a friend ask how to quiet his fan on his PC, which is not easily done. If you manually adjust the Windows settings for fan/power balance, it will reduce the performance of your computer. The computer doesn’t want to overheat. You don’t get something for nothing.

Now I talked about this before but I like the effect that having a fan has. The Mac would get incredibly warm and too hot to use on your laptop. Since it is on a desk it is a nonissue, but laptops rarely can be used on your lap. Except with the M1 Mac laptop that I once had at work. That was cool almost all of the time and I can’t remember it getting hot once.
Both my Mac/PC have Intel processors. They tend to run hot. However, since I chose this to be a combination work/gaming computer I understood and accepted that. I must admit that I was very conflicted about buying a high-end PC or Mac computer. I love that the M series is so power efficient, but I wanted to be able to play online games with my friend who was PC so that tipped the scales. No doubt a high-end Mac is on the purchase plan for this year.
Although there are rumors that there is a cheaper Mac SE that might be a choice as well. That would be very compelling and I would want to try that too. I feel so incredibly lucky working in IT and being able to try out different technologies. I feel sometimes like a kid in a candy store. So many wonderful technologies that are available now.
