Sometimes when you get support from IT it makes you feel and appear stupid.
I had the experience. I had a laptop from a MSP and it had always had a few pop ups that I had never done anything about to fix because it wasn’t important. However I had to give a presentation the next day so I needed to make sure they didn’t pop up.
Now I had tried to fix this problem a month previously but it gave me an error since I didn’t have a Office 365 license. I had been given one in the meantime.
When I called the help desk they said all I should have to do is login and when I said i tried that before and it gave me an error they said try it again. I tried logging in again and it worked. I was thrilled it was working and not something complex.
You have to get over your ego of being afraid to look stupid. IT problems can be complex and there isn’t any shame in not knowing the specific details of how companies work. It was also an easy call for him so he might have liked that.
I did the presentation and it turned out great. You prepare all you can and then do your best and generally that is good enough.
