Evidence For Headphone Comparisons

I read lots of reviews before I buy something. I continue to do research about the Sonos Ace and I found this video after I wrote my last post. I thought his test were even better and showed the Sonos Ace very favorably compared to Sony and even Seinheiser 4.

If you don’t want to watch the video and see the sound samples he recorded, I will summarize it. The Sonos Ace mic muted more sound than the other headphones and had other considerations as well that might be important to you.

Who wouldn’t like the Sonos Ace? If you have lossless audio files/service, or if you consider yourself an audiophile you may not like it. The smartphone app allows you to adjust the tremble/base but not in the same way that Sony or Seinheiser allows you to customize the sound. You can use the Seinheiser app to make the Momentum 4 sound like the Sonos Ace as the reviewer said, but I am not sure why you would do this. It would reduce the battery life and the battery life at 30 hours isn’t the best.

One of the things that I love about the Accentum Seinheiser I have is that it can last for 60 hours! I only have to charge it once a week or less. I will be charging the Sonos Ace more often but I think that is worth it for the trade off of better build quality, better active noise canceling, better mic and newer technology overall. Still if you care more about not charging your devices, you can’t beat the Seinheiser.

Now you may want to buy the Sony’s if you travel and need a small case since the XM4 folds into a small area for travel. However in other regards it is worse, and for me the most important is the ANC and mic performance.

The best kind of headphones to buy are what things you value. When you determine that, it is an easy choice.
