I am not being paid to say this, but I have been playing Eternium and it has been a fun free game.
Its considered a hack and slash RPG. If you like something like Final Fantasy, you will probably like this.
It is beautifully made, interesting and challenging fun levels, and easy upgrade system. You can pay to progress faster, but it is not required. I did pay $5 to upgrade the ability to add more members to my party, but if I had waited for a week I could have done it for free. Still $5 is a small price to pay to support something of this quality.
I will check out the other titles from this publisher/developer. I like how it was done and it gives you a good feeling to be able to make progress against some very tough bosses. You have to do a little grinding, but almost nothing compared to other games. If you wanted to pay money you could probably win this in a day.
Not to say this is simple. It is straightforward but it is easily understandable. At times you might make a mistake, but you quickly learn where you went wrong and fix it. For example, I tried to upgrade the archer since I thought that would help but it didn’t. Once I upgraded the Mage/magic user who functioned as a Protector that was very effective in beating the boss.
I haven’t won the game yet, but I probably will this weekend. I am going to play it next.
