I visit the dentist every 3 months. Why? He is very aggressive against tartar/plaque.
So far the results have been good. Yes its a little annoying for such frequent visits, but the longer you wait the more that your gums can suffer.
Now this guy is a sedation dentist. I don’t want to remember anything he does if he has to do anything. I have been sedated three times in my life at the dentist and I shared those stories earlier.
The reason I tell you that is that this requires a higher level of skill. They have to do more training, and then it also means he has higher insurance as well.
Now the reason I am sharing this is because it might help you learn from my dental mistakes. One of the mistakes that I did is not buy a water flossier sooner. I should have bought that when they were available. Then I should have bought a round rotating electric brush. I bought other electric brushes but never that. It turns out that those are superior at cleaning your teeth. I just got one today and it worked great.
Next I use Sensodyne toothpaste and mouthwash. I tried other ones but that seems to result for me in the least amount of cleaning. Also other mouthwashes the hygienist said were starting to stain my teeth. Fortunately it was removable but for that reason I don’t use other mouthwashes.
Yes those are a little more costly than other mouthwashes or toothpastes, but they have had a great effect for me and work well. I floss with pro-sys floss that they dentist gives me. Its not waxed and works great for my tight teeth. Waxed floss is just too weak for my style I guess.
Hope this helps you.
