I used to think ChatGPT is better, but today I am starting to think that Copilot with ChatGPT 5 is better.
Why do I say this? I asked it a query that I asked yesterday with ChatGPT 4. This time instead of giving me an answer in 10 seconds, it took 51 seconds and showed me the chain of reasoning it followed to get to the outcome. It didn’t let me influence it, but I didn’t need to. It suggested a potential solution that ChatGPT4 didn’t suggest yesterday and one that I didn’t know because its so obscure.
I will wait for hours for a solution that might work for a client. When you can learn what you don’t know, that is valuable no matter how long you have to wait. The AI should not be evaluating if it is practical, or anything other than does that knowledge exist and if yes give it to the user.
Copilot also has the lovely ability to learn from my emails, Onedrive files and past chats. It has become more useful because as I have found answers, it has included those answered in relevant searches that I am using. Now at least for research using Copilot Researcher is better than using ChatGPT for the average person. There may be unique things that ChatGPT does better, but remembering the past is a huge step forward for users.
I continue to use ChatGPT and Copilot on a daily basis as a tool for my consulting work. It has fully replaced the long hours I would spend doing Google/search engine searches and reading forums and posts. It is a remarkable time saving tool. Its not smarter, its just faster.
