I rarely use Copilot that is integrated into the M365 applications, but I did today in Word. It was useless.
I asked it to find other examples of improvements that I could suggest and it only repeated what I already said with more words. What a waste of time that was.
I shared earlier that Copilot in Excel was useless for me. It couldn’t fix a simple request, and Copilot in Word couldn’t fix a simple request either.
Slapping a Copilot in a program isn’t going to make us magically use it. It has to be useful and so far it hasn’t been useful.
In my job I rarely use PowerPoint. If I have to create a presentation I will use a third-party AI based PowerPoint compatible generator. I hate PP and the ugly formatting it does. I used it in the past and its almost impossible to make anything beautiful in it.
I want my presentations to look like Steve Jobs. Beautiful and something people will remember. People are terrible at logic, facts and details, but they remember if something is pretty.
I said in an earlier post that Copilot was having problems being sold. Microsoft needs to give it away for awhile, get people hooked and then start charging. This charging and the questionable value doesn’t help them or anyone else.
