I tried ChatGPT 4 and asked it to reformat my resume and save it to a pdf and it was unusable. Complete garbage. Today I tried with ChatGPT 5 Pro with the teams edition and it was night and day. It showed me a nicely summarized resume from my LinkedIn profile resume download, and then asked if I wanted to save it to a pdf. I copied and pasted it into a Word file instead and it looked great.
Why am I sharing this with you? I don’t know what changed, but when I tried this a year ago it was garbage. I even tried at the same time a website resume service that was free that was linked to another job site and it was garbage. It imported my resume and looked terrible. It was unusable and I was surprised how bad it was.
Lots of free sites are just a waste of time. Sometimes you get lucky and find something that is free, fast and looks great. This time it was ChatGPT 5 Pro with the teams version. I am so pleased that I gave it a second chance.
