Bought an optical mouse delivering as we speak

I bought an optical mouse from a retail store, and its being delivered as we speak.

Probably will take a few hours before it gets here but it will be worth it. I looked at the competition, and read lots of reviews and then it was clear that I was over thinking this. I don’t need the best of something, just something that will work and hopefully not fail after a year.

Spending more money on mice didn’t solve my problem, and even though I now understand the importance of optical vs mechanical clickers the short reviews I read made expensive optical mice not sound worth it either.

I choose a cheap optical mouse and I will see how that works for me. I also bought a USB C thumb drive so that I can test something for the client I am working for. I suspect there is a problem and this drive will help me verify that.

The total with delivery was about $60. That isn’t cheap, but the cost for same day delivery was about $10 a piece which is fine. It is worth it to me to pay that to get this today and then show the client that I am working hard on testing what I am helping them with.

I am also strongly motivated to have a mouse again. I thought I could last, but apparently I have a mouse addiction. It would be nice to use directly have the computer sense my hand or finger movements, but we are not at that level yet.

Having to use a mouse is crude, and I don’t think that the mouse will last another 5 years with the way that devices are sensing peoples gestures. The BMW X5 that I rented was able to determine to turn up or down the volume of the sound with a fun gesture. I look forward to gestures and intuitive interfaces.
