I made the mistake of buying a pillow that was too soft. Apparently I learned nothing from Monty Python.
Why did I do this? A month or so ago I said that I replaced my pillows because they were a few years old and time to replace them to be healthy.
The last few weeks my neck had started to feel worse and more sore. I thought it was due to different things. At first I thought it was because I moved my desk around so it means I am turning my head more than I used to. Then that wasn’t it when it got worse and I wasn’t turning my head as a test.
Then I thought perhaps it was because of anxiety about the world. However I let the anxiety go as much as possible, and that wasn’t it.
It dawned on me that the pillows might be to blame. Yesterday I bought two firm pillows from JCPenny. Yes that is right they are still in business.
When I woke up this morning my shoulder didn’t hurt at all and I feel great. It is amazing how little things can make a big difference in your daily life and experience.
The pillow was from a company I had never heard before. No I am not getting any benefit from sharing this other than possibly helping someone sleep better. It was a Bodipedic™ Home Copper Memory Foam Medium Density Pillow for $110.
I had tried a Serta pillow that was about $32 but it was too soft. Another cheap pillow that I bought last year was too soft as well. I even tried a travel pillow that was $120 from the manufacturer of the mattress but that was too soft. This pillow was the hardest that JCPenny had, and it felt like it would do the job.
Why didn’t I just buy what I have bought before? I like to try new products. So far I like this pillow the best. It is the best combination of price and comfort so far. Lets see how long it lasts. The reviews on it are pretty positive.
