I installed the 3rd party support and it makes it bearable to use the trackpad. I love trackpads, but its very different from using a mouse for me.
For example with a mouse I feel I have better ability to move anywhere on the screen instantly. Yes I can do that as well with a trackpad, but it takes a little more effort. Is this something that I do frequently? Not really. When I wrote this paragraph I had the spacing off a little and I moved to it fairly easily with the trackpad, but probably easier with a mouse.
Maybe this is psychological. Maybe the fact that I have used a mouse makes me want to continue to use a mouse. The downsides of the mouse are plentiful. I have bought the same model mouse the last 3 times and each time they have been lasting shorter periods of time. Even though I clean them and take care of them, the last one only lasted less than a year and that was unacceptable.
Yes its true I do use it a lot during the day, and perhaps more than it was designed to be used. I might do some research for heavy duty mice. Almost every mouse I have tried I have broken through overuse. Maybe this is a me problem.
