Anyone else moved from one primary news source to another?

I used to watch CNN but it got trashy. Then I switched to MSNBC but that writes with an inflammatory tone. Now my primary news source is Axios and I love their content.

For the most part, Axios is factual and I love their end of the article “Bottom line” analysis. It helps you make sense of what they are telling you. I don’t always agree with it, but I can understand where they are coming from and see if I agree with their bias. They do have a slight left-leaning tendency which I am aware of and no one is perfect. Don’t get excited people. If a news source had a right-leaning tendency I would have the same complaint.

I tend to prefer new sources that quote sources and facts. If a new source starts reasoning as part of the article, I move to another article and another news source. News can help people interpret what is going on, but no adult needs to be told what to think or believe. People have to decide on their own and own their thoughts. If they don’t do this, they can’t say they believe in something, can they?

In the past, I have shared many Axios articles that I thought were interesting and people should know about. If I only had one news source to get information on Axios would be it. I was tired of reading articles that are designed to provoke you emotionally like is done with MSNBC and other sources. While they were better than CNN, it is a pretty low bar to be better than CNN at this point.

I do watch and reach news from many news sources. Especially on YouTube. If I see something that is interesting I will watch it, but rarely do I find far left/far right sites trustworthy. The further you get away from facts, the less you can trust your judgment. People want to believe whatever they want, but reality does exist and if we don’t act with what we understand about how the world works we will be lost.

Part of growing as a person is being willing to challenge yourself. Challenge yourself with a new news source and see if your beliefs can face the facts. If you can defend your beliefs with facts great. If you can’t, maybe it is a sign you need to change them.
