Still loss of power and water

My building still is on emergency generator power and the building said it would transition to full time this morning. It was supposed to stop with the power but it hasn’t done it yet.

So that leaves me a second day without working and I kind of miss doing my IT things at my job.

Now we are on limited generator power so I only have the AC going and that it. They clearly said that the power wasn’t full and to conserve power or it would knock out power for everyone in the building. There are about 100 in the building including older people who have limited mobility and health. I don’t want to be responsible for making their lives harder.

The water turned off on Sunday and I left and came back and I worked for awhile. The water/electricity is unreliable so I bought extra water and I charge up my phone as much as possible. I am typing this on a laptop then I will close it so I can use it in an emergency.

Its a staycation but not a comfortable one. The person who hit the utility pole has inconvenienced a lot of people and cost a lot of money. I forgive them, but I wonder why we are so tolerate with systems that don’t have backups? Every building should have emergency power, and the power should come in from at least two places. Why do we care so little about peoples well being?
