I looked at Activity Monitor on my mac yesterday and it was using too much memory and putting the disk in SWAP mode. That can wear out the hard drive prematurely.
So I turned off the “High resolution” setting that I had used in my game. It turns out that I can’t tell the difference in how it looks.
With this one change, the memory usage was lower and no swap file usage occurred and my computer is going to live an long and happy life.
If money is no object you don’t need to make this change, but if you wear glasses then high resolution mode goes to 4k and you may not have the screen/projector to appreciate this.
