You might have noticed that I have increasingly included YouTube shorts. I have found them to be interesting and educational.
Now I have to go through lots of shorts to find ones that I think are good enough to share. Many times the videos they show in shorts are repeats, or in the same topic.
I have learned some beautiful and surprising things by watching shorts. Much better quality than just randomly browsing YouTube. Since YouTube rewards the amount of time people spend watching the videos, many videos are fluff and time wasters. Shorts tend to be meaningful and impactful.
What also is compelling about shorts is if it is something I am not interested in, it is easier to switch to the next video than with a regular YouTube video. I just swipe with my mouse and then the next one comes on. I wish that regular videos had the same kind of presentation. No comments unless you clicked on something to see them. Most YouTube comments are trash.
