As a society, we motivate people to lie and then act surprised when they do.
Recruiters are motivated to lie when they get paid when they can under price candidates. Cops are motivated to lie when they get professional recognition the more people they arrest. Women are motivated to lie when they get more alimony and benefits. Men are motivated to lie if they get what they want.
We look at children and discipline them for wanting things they can’t have, but when you are an adult we don’t limit ourselves. We think that we deserve anything we want, and nothing can tell us no.
Even the threat of the law is not enough for some people to love others. Some people say that being a religious person makes a person good. I didn’t see this in my life. In fact I saw that religious people were worse, because they thought they were good people or convinced they were evil so what was the point of self-control.
We hurt others and then wonder why we aren’t happy. We can never be happy unless we can live with ourselves, and almost everyone can’t live with themselves. They are so riddled with self-hate, anger and toxic emotions that it is almost impossible to love others. So they support hurtful and hateful policies because they don’t love anyone including themselves.
The antidote to our society is not money but healing.
