No matter how much you work on improving yourself, there is always more to do.

Does this mean that it is pointless to work on yourself? No. It just means that you have to approach your growth as a long-term project. We are used to being told that there are shortcuts to things, but in life there are no shortcuts to growth.

Even with NMT which has been the most effective thing for me, I find myself growing each day. It is painful sometimes when I have challenged myself, but it is also painful to not challenge yourself.

In life you can either grow and be in pain, or not grow and be in more pain. I have reduced my pain by forcing myself to grow, even when I didn’t want to.

Why am I sharing this? If you are honest with yourself, life is giving you the feedback for you to consider and grow. Sometimes it is helpful, and sometimes it isn’t. It takes discernment to know what to listen to in life.

Which makes it all the more interesting in how we spend our time. We spend so much time on YouTube, social media and other time wasters that we aren’t listening to wise people, we are listening to nonsense.

I mentioned before that I was reducing the time I spend randomly looking at YouTube and other than LinkedIn I don’t look as social media. Growing requires focus, and if your energy is spent chasing things that aren’t wise, you aren’t going to grow but do the opposite.

We don’t grow to avoid pain, we grow because that is the reason for life. To experience, to know.
