No this isn’t me, it is someone suffering with misophonia.

Now why am I sharing this with you? No I don’t suffer from this but I am wearing the same headphones that the gentleman in the photo is wearing and they are amazing.
No I am not getting any benefit from sharing this. They are 3M Peltor X5A. They have 31db of Noise Reduction rating which means it takes it from a hair drier level of noise to a quiet library. It is amazing.
I am wearing them now and had them for the past two days. It is mostly like being inside of a vault. You don’t hear much noise until it directly comes from the bones in your heads.
In fact it is kind of interesting when you first wear it. When I first put them on my ears the only thing I could hear is my heartbeat and if I focus on that I can hear that now. It isn’t bad, it is kind of relaxing.
So why would I wear something so ridiculous? One since I live next to an interstate sometime Firetrucks/Ambulances will come by and be noisy. I have already seen a dramatic change in that. I don’t notice them anymore when I am focused on work, and that makes me healthier and happier.
Two since I sometimes have to recharge my Sonos Ace it provides a second layer of sound protection when my environment can become noisy. Randomly the neighbors will drill or do construction and living next to an access road to the interstate can be noisy as well. I love where I live, but the noise sometimes can be stressful. This takes that away.
Three when I first moved here I had a headache because of the noise. I got used to it and I can sleep with it at night, but during the day this brings me an edge in being able to study and focus. I tend to learn better when I am not distracted, and by having this I am laser focused on what I am learning/doing.
It is fun to switch between this headset and the Sonos Ace. The Ace feels very loose compared to this but I still love it. The Ace is still more comfortable in regards to everything else. This has a bit of pressure on the inner ears but very slight. I wore it most of yesterday and felt good with it.
It is a new toy and one I already love.
