Tire mysteriously disappeared

'Sorry, ma'am, we don't carry snow tires for that!'

‘Sorry, ma’am, we don’t carry snow tires for that!’

One day I got into my car and when I turned it on it said there was a problem with the tire pressure system.

Now if you have a car that has a tire pressure system at least for me, they have been problematic with many types of cars. I figured ok its due for another repair so I took it to the mechanic.

Imagine my surprise when the mechanic says the reason this is happening is that the tire that was mounted under the car is gone!

He said that the line snapped that held it, and so that means that the tire could have been anywhere. It could have also been stolen since I park in a parking lot that doesn’t have security sometimes.

Now it doesn’t matter to me how it happened. It happened and now I have to deal with it. The repair he said would cost $1200. Or he said he could just put the tire in the trunk area temporarily until I could come up with that money.

I asked him to put it in the trunk area temporarily and he covered it with a plastic cover so it wouldn’t smell. I cant smell it when I drive and for the last several months I have been saving up to make this repair. Now I can afford it this month and so with my next paycheck I am going to have the mechanic fix it. The car also had some other repairs that were critical so I did the things that I could afford and this was nice but not necessary to do.

In the order of cost of repairs in my life have been: girlfriends I was trying to make a wife, house, and car. Other than that I am a simple man. Still if I hadn’t had those expenses I would have lots of money in the bank. This isn’t to brag, it is just to wonder if all of those items were really worth it. Did I really need a house and car like I had bought? Maybe renting is really the better way to live life.
