It is funny how my opinion of something changes when I am on the other side.
It is easy to hate on big companies, and I am not giving a defense of big companies here. They have plenty of things to answer for.
However it is also not helpful to think that big companies are entirely at fault. I have to say that when I have worked for big companies sometimes customers ask for outrageous things and big companies do their best to do it.
For example I once worked at a company and the ask from the customer was to do something that wasn’t supported. The big company and I found another way to accomplish the goal and the customer was pleased. Just because something isn’t easy to do or simple, doesn’t mean it can’t be done.
So when you work with other companies ask and give them to chance to find out if it possible. Many times it is.
