The minor downsides of using Crossover

I have been using Crossover and generally I love it, but I don’t love how it handles purchases.

In Mumu player it is an emulated Android system and so when its time to make an in-game purchase it recognizes your credit card on file in the Google Play store and charges it.

However with Crossover it doesn’t have that integration so it brings up a webpage for the purchase and then you have to sign in and find the equivalent and then purchase it. I don’t like that.

When I had to buy an in game purchase I fired up Mumu and purchased it and then relaunched it in Crossover. Moreover having to do this is annoying and it will limit the desire to spend on games by having this time consuming and bulky method.

The more that I have to work to purchase something, the less likely I am to do it. Why do they make this so difficult?

I have used Crossover entirely other than purchasing something briefly in Mumu. Generally it is excellent and it has been surprisingly stable.

Are there any other negatives? Very minor but when the game updates when you first launch it, it is slow to download the update. I am on a fast connection but the upload process takes forever. Now in comparison with Mumu I had to exit the app, update and then relaunch the app which took about the same amount of time. It is annoying in a different kind of way for updates. If they could optimize the update speed that would be appreciated.

Still other than these two things it is almost perfect. And it teaches you patience and not spending money. All in all, those are things that I can live with.
