The job that won’t go away

If you are good at your job you get to do everyone else job too
If you are good at your job you get to do everyone else job too
If you are good at your job you get to do everyone else job too

One of the funny things about being a consultant, is that often recruiters will approach you for the same job.

Now I can understand that this can happen a few times. After all if one person thinks you are a good match, chances are so will other people. So when multiple recruiters talk to me about the same position, I say that I have already been contacted about this or just no thank you when it gets overwhelming.

So when I tell you what has been happening to me over the last two weeks you can understand why I am writing this. For the past 2 weeks there is a job that I am perfect for, but the company has a non negotiable hybrid and I am non negotiable WFH due to health. Which is fine. We all have our boundaries.

The problem is this. I am so perfect for the job, that multiple recruiters contact me about this job everyday day for the past 2 weeks. I had one this morning and that why I am writing this. Since he was vague I couldn’t save time but once he said the company name/location I knew what it was about. He/I wasted 20 maybe 40 minutes when if he had shared all of the details, it would have only been minutes wasted.

I have to be honest with you recruiters, the less key details you give to potential clients, the more time you waste for everyone. This is not a good use of anyone time.

To be honest, I have had jobs that I have turned down and weeks and months have gone by and they changed the requirements and then they considered/hired me. I don’t expect/maybe even want that to happen, but I’m not going to change on this. There is no reason to risk my health when I can work for other companies.
