Thank you for being a part of my network and life

I just wanted to say thank you for being a part of my network and life.

It was more than twenty years ago when I found a doctor who believed in me when I was doubting myself. Just knowing that she believed in me helped me to fully believe in myself, and that has made all of the difference in my life. I believe in you. It doesn’t matter if you are jobless, homeless or whatever your current situation is, you will find a way to be happy. If you are reading this you have chosen the path of gratitude and that is the way that others remember and appreciate.

I have shared before how many times just giving gratitude and help without any goal in mind has opened doors for me. I am always surprised by how often a simple compliment or thanks means to the person whom I give it. For example, in one job I was helping someone and I noticed that she had printed off and put with her things a compliment that I had given her. It had meant so much that she wanted to remember it and treasure it. I was touched that a small gesture was appreciated.

Even if people don’t print off what you email them, you can feel good knowing that each day you made someone’s life a little better. Life is really hard for people. Even small gestures are appreciated and remembered. I shared before how I have had people come up to me years later and thank me for something that I did for them that I forgot about. This is not to brag, but simply to say that kindness is rarely forgotten.

However, if people do forget your kindness or do not appreciate it, or attack you for being kind, that is ok too. They no doubt had a difficult past, and don’t know how to respond to affection and love. We should rather feel sorry for those who can’t accept in a gracious way our concern and care for them. It is not your job to feel good each time you give, but to offer help regardless of the consequences. That is what makes people noble, and kindness to others is always noble.
