When you have 5 laptops that you use during the day, switching your headphone/mouse becomes important.
Now on average I only use 3 laptops per day. However that means that I must switch between them when I have meetings.
This is one of the reasons why I considered getting another pair of headphones. Behinds having them as a backup, they could be dedicated to the client computers and I wouldn’t need to switch.
When I switch I turn the Bluetooth off on my phone, and then turn off the Bluetooth on the computer I am switching from. The computer I am switching to I turn on the Bluetooth. Why would I do this?
One I have had people call me and I forgot to turn off the Bluetooth to my phone and it automatically switched the source to the phone and the people on the meeting didn’t hear me. That was embarrassing.
Two if the other computer has a notification than because they are both on, it might switch the source to it during a meeting. The only way I know that I can control how it switches is to turn off the ability for it to see a different device.
So if I had a second pair of headphones then I would no longer need to switch the headphones. Time saved? Two minutes per day. Worth it? I don’t think so.
The time it would take to charge up the headphones would mean that I would now have two headphones to charge. Would that take two minutes per day. Probably not but is it necessary?
This is the struggle that I have with two is one and one is none. Some things just don’t make sense to have that mentality. Whenever I tell this to my relationship they say there are some exceptions to this rule.
