I had to stop responding to no-effort recruiters. If they don’t value my time, I don’t value theirs.
What is no-effort? It is when an email that is sent does not apply to you because of obvious factual requests, obvious mistaken language, or seems non-human generated.
Today was my worst day with this. I had 10 emails from recruiters who had the following issues: salary rate for someone with entry level experience, position in another country, position with skills that are never mentioned I my resume, position with requirements that are extreme and obvious that I don’t have, position with company with obvious typos/looks spammy, position with company for job that has been repeatedly offered to me but not remote even when I said only remote in my LinkedIn preferences and in my work history. There are more but this is enough. These are not minor mistakes. They are not options or preferences, they are things that disqualify me from being interested in their job.
Then unsolicited recruiters will call me and say I have a job and when I tell them what I am making and doing now they aren’t interested in that but try to offer me less money or less flexibility. Now why would I do that? I tell them no, and often they try to convince me. I say I said no and I meant it. If you don’t honor someone boundaries then I don’t want to work with you.
Come on people, we can respect others while we do our jobs. Its not that hard.
