Steam has some amazing free games. I have been trying them out and one that I like is called Zombie Defense.
Probably don’t need to tell you, but you are defending yourself and others against Zombies. This isn’t blood and gore, it is cartoon-level stuff. I have enjoyed playing it and I didn’t know it was on Steam until I was reading a forum about the types of games in Linux that people enjoy playing. I played this game in Windows and it worked very well and was fun. Since it was free it was a no-brainer to play.
Is there a downside? It might be a bit repetitive if you want mini-games or other things in your game. I found it refreshing to play and kind of addictive when I first played it. I just installed it on Steam and wanted to share this review before I play it again. It is the kind of game that you can save your game and go back to so it gives you a satisfying sense of progress and fun. You can also have different kinds of attacks and environments so there is a fair amount of variety. I never felt bored playing it.
No Steam isn’t paying me to say this. I wrote earlier that I disliked Steam for not refunding a non-working game in the past. They have since changed their policy and if you have a Linux computer, Steam is a natural way to manage your Linux games. It makes it easy to keep the best ones. I love how Nobara Linux had everything with Steam setup except turning on the compatibility inside the game. That is easily done and the games play better than they did on Windows. It is amazing to me.
Life isn’t all grind and hustle. There are times to relax and have fun. As you grow you learn better how to balance work and play.
