If you have ever used Active Noise Canceling headphones you probably noticed after putting them on that they make your inner ear feel pressure. This is similar to pressure you feel when flying and your ears are adjusting.
I never liked that feeling, but I tolerated it because ANC headphones were such a help in my environment. Since every ANC headphone had that problem I just figured it was part of the technology.
Until I used the Sonos Ace headphones. This to me is the standout benefit. Since I am a HSP these are more than a luxury they are a necessity. Instead of having the popping of my ears after using my old Seinheiser Accentum headphones, I can take these off anytime and my ears are ok.
The reason I am sharing this is once I got these headphones I have not put on my other headphones at all. I thought I might use them occasionally or even when the Sonos was being charged but I’d rather listen to noise than feel the ear pressure. Now that it is a choice, I am making the choice and not putting that pressure on my ears.
Bose and Sony models that I used for ANC has this issue as well. I didn’t own Sony ANC headphones but tried them out in Best Buy. I lived with the Bose headphones until they broke with gentle handling, and I won’t ever buy Bose again.
I wrote earlier that I tried JBL ANC headphones and those were good for their price. However I really prefer the more noise canceling over the ear design and so that model wasn’t enough for me. I gave it to a friend who really liked it and had never used ANC before.
Lots of great choices for headphones. I am glad I made this choice.
