Rearranged furniture to try out new idea

I love rearranging furniture. It’s fun to try out new ideas in decor.

Part of the reason is that the heavy sound-damping curtains are so effective that they make it hard to see during the day. I have temporarily removed them and put the screen to block the window. The window has verticle blinds so most of the light is blocked and the screen is usable I am just seeing how I feel about it.

The advantage to this is that there is more light in the apartment but enough light is blocked to be able to use the screen. The contrast is less and I have to decide if I am ok with this. I might switch the blackout curtains and the sound-damping curtains between the two rooms. That would block a little more light but still leave some to be able to function better.

Another side effect is that the outdoor projector screen in this position is moving more because of the air from the AC vent. Not anymore. Just fixed it. I had bought a plastic vent that redirects the air. You can find them by searching for a vent air deflector or something like that. It was $14 at Target and so worth it. The first time I used it the plastic tabs at the bottom broke but I just used some clear tape and made it better than designed. The magnets at the bottom hold onto the AC and the vent directs it away from my face at night or the projector screen now. Now instead of the screen fluttering it is calm. This is nicer to look at.

In this position, I can more easily slide around in my chair and I am not worried about hitting the wall as my desk was set up before. I do need to buy a longer HDMI cable though so I can adjust the projector better. So far more upsides than downsides.

When I was a teenager I would often move the furniture in my bedroom around and buy cheap furniture at a thrift store and try things out. I probably bought too many desks in the past but I certainly stimulated the local economy. If I was rich I might have a business rearranging people’s furniture for a living. I think that would be very fun. Perhaps this is a side effect of playing too much Tetris in my youth. All the excess of youth! Reading and Tetris.
