Everyday I am so grateful to my Sonos Ace headphones.
No this is not an advertisement, I just really enjoy this product.
Why? So many reasons. Even when I am not listening to music is cuts down outside noise. I wear it almost all the time.
I even thought of getting a second pair, or getting a even higher end brand of headphones. I have really enjoyed each step up in quality I have taken in headphones. They help me personally and professionally and it is a pleasure to use them.
For example when I am in meetings and I can so easily hear every detail of what is going on. Many times on large meetings there is background noise, but even with that it is clear. I don’t have bad hearing, but having headphones allows you to relax and be comfortable like they were sitting across from you. They have made meetings less stressful that you might not understand something crucial.
When I play games or listen to music I hear things that I never heard before. One of the reasons that I shared so much music in the past is that everything sounded so good to me. These are clearly the best headphones I have ever used, so to me that increases my enjoyment of music and entertainment. That is priceless to me.
Now looking at it from that aspect, it is clear I should buy the more expensive projector if I can afford it after taxes. If I can’t, then I will save up. Being able to enjoy culture is part of what makes life worth living. Don’t limit your enjoyment of culture because of crappy equipment.
Is there a downside? If I could wish for anything, it would be that it fits tighter on my head. With glasses there is some sound leakage. Very slight. Probably with no glasses there wouldn’t be that issue. Could I fix this with different glasses? Probably. Is this a real issue. Not at all.
I guess you could call me a cheap audiophile. I like it to sound nice but I am shy to spend the thousands of dollars I have researched to get that kind of quality. To me the $500 for the headphones was reasonable risk to buy them, and they have made me appreciate more expensive headphones. Will more cost equal more pleasure? I don’t know how that is possible but of course like always I am technically curious.
