Watching a YouTube of two fools trying to take down an old grain tower, the camera operator from far away was laughing and giving them advice.
The camera operator advice was clearly putting them in danger. They were amateurs and it was obvious that what they were doing was putting their life in danger.
You often see and learn from others mistakes in life. They were too stupid to learn from their own mistake. I was hoping that this wasn’t a video where they were injured, but even worse it might work and give them a fake confidence they could do this in the future.
They turned out ok, but not because of their planning but only luck. The structure didn’t fall on top of them but they had no way to know that. They could have just as easily died. For what? To save a few hundred dollars from having a professional do it? It is a foolish idea to risk your life when there is no need.
What I see in life is that people listen to others advice when that person has nothing to lose. People make laws about things that will never affect them, because they have nothing to lose. In relationships and in life and especially on LinkedIn bad advice is the norm.
Wisdom is hard to find, but you will never find it from someone who doesn’t have something to lose.
