For the first time I tried using the MSI on only battery power and I was disappointed.
Last night I used it while watching 3 half hour sitcoms. Only about 90 minutes of power and I was playing two mobile games. It went from 100% to 12% in that time.
Now of course it makes sense that a brightly light screen and playing games will use up battery power. I didn’t realize however how quickly it would go.
Is this something that I need it to do? Obviously not since it was the first time I used it. I accept that a gaming computer really needs to be plugged in all the time. Still it would have been nice to have more time than 90 minutes.
In contrast the cheap Dell Snapdragon Windows Home laptop I bought goes all day without needing a charge. That is pretty neat. I haven’t tried playing it with an emulator and these two games but I bet it would get longer than 90 minutes. Does this mean that a snapdragon is a gaming computer? Not at all, but for some simple games probably web based ones it might do great. Mobile games might work as well like the three I am playing. Hardcore games, not as well as something with traditional CPU’s.
Still it may be time to try out those games on the Snapdragon. Maybe later today.
