Keeping cool with high electrical bills

I have never had such high electrical bills. One of the downsides of living in a Condo is increased electrical usage.

Still I love being warm in the winter and that is the majority of the time so I accept the higher bills in summer. Lately the electrical bill has been about $300 for the wall air exchanger working 24/7 to keep cool.

Sometimes I turn it off when it gets too cold but mostly it helps keep my computers cool and I can appreciate that. With three computers that I am constantly using, I am not helping myself keep cool.

Actually I take that back. The mac computer is an M4 which is cool, and the newer HP is cooler as well than the MSI that I used to use for work. That baby was always hot. Using a gaming machine for work is fast but the trade-off is that the heat can sometimes be intense. I am staying cool with the HP and love it. The mac is sitting in front of the AC and it is cold when I touch it.

This is not to brag, its just that even two curtains isn’t enough to stop the heat. It can be 80+ when it is almost 100 degrees outside. A south facing building heats up and no curtains can deflect the thermal heat that is happening.

Not complaining just a new experience for me. I bet that as the earth gets hotter, south facing properties will not be the selling point they used to be.
