I just got the COVID shot and you might benefit from what I learned.
First, they don’t care if you bring your COVID card. They also don’t seem to care if you want to get additional shots like the flu shot at the same time. In the past, this was a no no. They told me it was the Moderna shot, but I honestly didn’t care.
I made some small talk with the technician giving the shot and she said that CVS was giving out Pfizer. She also said that she liked the Johnson & Johnson shot when I said that I had read that other people didn’t like it because of side effects. She said they were pushed out of the vaccine space.
The reason I decided to get it, is that I had a friend in NYC tell me that three of her associates got COVID. Even though I work from home, I still encounter people in the hallways. So just to be on the safe side I got it. I didn’t get a flu shot, the person I went with got it at the same time.
After getting the shot I feel fine. In the past my arm where the injection was put in might feel sore or tender. If that happens I’m prepared to deal with it. It is tiring to do have to do this, but I’d rather have a minor reaction than a major one. Even though I got COVID shots in the past I still got COVID, but I am doing what I can to reduce my risks. Everyone has to decide for themselves what is best.
