Lots of interesting things when I just installed Brave Nightly happened.
The first is that reinstalling 1Password has improved. Once I download the extension it shows a QR code as part of the installation process and when I scan it on my iPhone it copied all of the information and instantly set up everything. In the past I had always typed in a long complicated number because it didn’t show this QR code as an option. Nice.
Secondly, the behavior of 1password has improved. It used to be that I would have to click inside of a password box to get 1password to recognize it was a password but now it recognized it and I was in like Flynn. Nice. The performance also seemed faster. This is all on Windows 11 Pro by the way.
Third, I am now typing this article in the new Brave Nightly browser and it shows Brave in Purple instead of Red. Minor change but glad they separated the functionality out with colors.
Brave Nightly warned that there might be data loss by using the nightly version. I don’t have any data to worry about. All of my passwords are in 1Password, and any settings that I may change are not saved or important. I don’t use Brave Sync so that isn’t an issue. If this newer version makes me even a little bit safer online, that is worth while.
Would I suggest companies to use this Nightly version? Of course not. You use what is supported. Still it is interesting that it has some performance increases and works better with 1Password. Great job people!
