Isn’t this nuts? People are complaining about immigration, but even illegal immigration will increase the GDP by $9 billion according to the latest report. https://www.axios.com/2024/06/18/immigration-economy-growth-cbo

So what does this mean? It means that with worker shortages that companies report, especially in manual labor areas this will improve the standard of living and profitability of all companies and theoretically help all US workers.

Now I don’t care what side of the immigration debate you are on, if people are contributing to the economy don’t they deserve the rewards of their work? People often talk about entitlement. That people act as though they have a right to government grants and support. Yes, people do have that right. However with people who are working without legal authorization, don’t they have even greater rights since they are supporting the system that helps all of us?

Why are you threatened when someone else can have a job? Even if they get your very unlikely job, who is better positioned to get another job? You are. If you want a better future for everyone, what steps are you taking today to help that future?

I was told that I am part Indian(on my birth certificate as well), so if anyone should be against immigration it would be someone who has a right to the land. I don’t think I have a right to anything. Indians will say that we share this land and it is a gift and we can’t own it. We pervert the very ideas that helped us survive in the past. In the past, a shared community made us stronger. Now we fight against a shared community because we think we are different. We have let marketing control and override our connection and humanity to others.
