I believed those companies could overcome Microsoft’s inertia but I was wrong.
What I have experienced is that many companies are moving away from those products to use Azure and the Microsoft products. I think ChatGPT is going to be another differentiation. When people are more comfortable with creating Copilot/ChatGPT agents, then we will see the next wave of AI adoption.
Google just keeps making dumb mistakes. I tried using Gemini in the past and it just was painful and I stopped using it. I tried giving Apple AI a chance but that was a joke too. It is so typical for Apple to have problems with cloud based services. It was always their weak point. They squandered their goodwill on squeezing money from people.
Linux I thought had a chance because it is so good in so many areas. I truly believe that Mac/Linux represent the future of choice for regular people. However it is likely that they will be connected to Azure/AWS and that is going to be the big decision for companies in the future.
Now AWS has some interesting things about it and I am glad it is there to challenge Microsoft. However I don’t see it being chosen over MS. Too many companies that think that Microsoft is the safe choice, and perhaps it is. However companies don’t get ahead by making safe choices, and eventually business are conceding to Microsoft and even giving it their data. It is surprising how companies seem to be willing to give up the keys to the kingdom in order to save a few bucks on IT costs.
Which is fine. Everyone does what they think is best. It is clear to me that the opportunities lie in integration and that where I have focused my efforts. It is hard work to understand two universes but when you do, you can offer incredible value to a client.
