The reason it died is the company that made it became too greedy.
For years I played and enjoyed this game. It was the first game that I played that was Free to Play but of course had a paid option. I paid for some small upgrades that helped me be more competitive. I was ok with supporting the company that helped me enjoy these characters. However for the last two months I stopped spending, and here are the reasons why.
- Stopped listening to its Envoys/customers. When a company stops listening to its Envoys/customers then there are big problems. The company had made poor decisions that have limited the users to be able to even play basic content. We understand that a game has to pay the bills, but when you start charging to play basic content, then it crosses the line.
- Increased its prices. The company has been increasing its prices consistently. This far outstrips inflation. For people who might be struggling to pay the bills, paying for a non essential game like this is an easy decision not to.
- Treating its Envoys/customers disrespectfully. I watched a YouTube video of one of the most positive content creators say he was anxious and depressed at the state of the game. He shared he wasn’t listened to like all the other Envoys, and that just makes people feel that their voice is useless. It will be a loss to humanity if those funny, creative and positive content creators stop producing. This is what I will miss the most.
In order to speak with my voice as a customer I wrote the company support line, send emails to the CEO/CFO and writing this post now. I understand from researching this that many F2P games are becoming pay to play. They will lose their audience and fail. You don’t get something for nothing. “Free players” who willingly pay to be upgraded have to start somewhere. If you require hundreds of dollars like Marvel Strike Force is now requiring to play content, you won’t get anyone to bite. It is so stupid. Greed kills everything.
