I watched a YouTube video that talked about why Maga are ok with what Trump is doing. He said that after talking with them they told him that “They are hurting, but its ok if others are hurting worse.”
I heard this a week ago and it has taken me that long to digest it. I didn’t want to write something until I had something useful to say. It is difficult to understand people who want to hurt others.
This isn’t because I am some angel and haven’t hurt others myself. I have defended myself when needed by people who were actively hurting me. I do not however initiate violence and I can’t understand people who do.
I have had people who say that they love me hurt me, and people who were weaker than me hurt me. At times GFS have hit me, not because I was a jerk but because they didn’t have a better way to deal with their stress and frustration.
I don’t advocate for being a punching bag, but I understand why a white man would be a punching bag. White men have done terrible things in history and currently, and I don’t blame anyone who isn’t a white man for being angry at us.
Why am I saying all of this? It is because hurting others will never help lift someone who is also being hurt. It seems so obvious. Lets break it down.
If we deport people without a chance to deal with charges, we see that already this is being applied to US citizens. We can’t hurt others without hurting ourselves.
I know its easy to hate others who you don’t feel are part of your tribe/like you. Its easy to let your fear and anger for the injustice of the world color your feelings towards other people. However it is not the color, sexuality or body parts that are making your life hard. It is rich people who don’t want to pay taxes. Rich people have always been civilizations enemy and the sooner we focus on that, the better life will be for everyone.
