I had a friend share that when she went on an interview, they had a treats basket with different snacks for her to enjoy.
That was never my experience. I never had a company have a treats basket. Although now that I remember I did have an interview at a restaurant, and the gentleman bought my breakfast.
I didn’t get that job, but I liked going to a restaurant to have an interview. That was different and I enjoyed that.
When a company likes you, they want to treat you nicely and the interview process is part of that. I can state as a fact, that the interview process accurately reflects how the company operates. Let me give you an example.
One interview I had with a company was supposed to start at 2. I was early and arrived at 1 because I sometimes get lost in new locations and didn’t want to be late. I checked in early and said I can wait and I had no problems waiting. I waited an hour, and then I waited for another half hour past the agreed upon start time of the interview. When I asked the receptionist, I was told my interviewer was busy. At 45 minutes past the start time they started the interview. I have to say that I was not impressed with them, and I didn’t accept the job offer.
Companies will waste your time if you don’t value it. Now I only wait 15 minutes past a start time and then tell them I am not interested. It only takes a moment to update with a text/call if you are running late. There is no excuse for being late.
