Its funny how you talk about something in your life or think about it, and then you get an opportunity to change it.
I was invited to another alliance in Marvel Strike Force. I declined it because I am very happy with my current alliance. Would there be a chance for something better there? Sure, and also a chance for something worse.
I talk often about taking chances and being too comfortable, so you would probably expect me to jump to another alliance if I have the opportunity. Just because you are aware of something, doesn’t mean you have to do it.
It is just like in a job. You don’t change to another job because one thing is better, you change to it when several things are better. I don’t have enough information to know if switching to the other alliance is better.
Yes I can examine their team and pick something. Often however a third-party can make a better choice than we can. For example, my current alliance I was placed in by a third-party person that I contacted trying to recruit for my alliance. He asked me many intelligent questions and I have been thrilled with the alliance I am a part of.
I want to stay someplace long term that is helpful to both parties. Too often in IT we are seen as transactional, and I have value that adds more than just being a transaction. I want that in every job that I work at, but unfortunately many companies are facing difficult financial times and if you want to pay the bills sometimes you have to jump ship when there is no work.
Loyalty works best when you can continue to grow and add value to a team. I am not sure that that alliance can add value more than my current one.
